1. Industry Data
According to data released by CMTBA in 2024, revenue from metal cutting machine tools grew by 6.3% year-on-year (reaching 168.7 billion yuan), while metal forming machine tools increased by 4.4% (93 billion yuan), indicating overall steady improvement in the industry.
2. Outlook for China's Machinery Industry in 2025
On February 19, Luo Junjie, Executive Vice President of (CMIF)China Machinery Industry Federation, stated that the machinery industry is expected to maintain a growth rate of around 5.5% in 2025, with a focus on advancing towards high-end, intelligent, and green development. New energy vehicles, intelligent equipment (such as industrial robot production up 14.2% year-on-year) and clean energy equipment (such as 80 million kilowatts of new wind power installations) have become core growth drivers.
3. Major Equipment Breakthroughs
China's independently developed 300-megawatt-level F-class heavy gas turbine has completed full-load tests, and the super-large diameter TBM tunnal boring machine (Shanhua)has been put into service, marking further enhancement of high-end equipment manufacturing capabilities.
4. Additive Manufacturing
Additive manufacturing has been included in the technological transformation directions of seven industries, including engineering machinery and medical equipment, promoting equipment renewal and material innovation (such as the application of high-performance polymers). Industrial applications are expanding: additive manufacturing is gradually maturing in fields such as medical implants (e.g., ankle implants) and complex aerospace components. A team from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics released the 3D-AJP novel ceramic additive manufacturing technology, achieving high-precision structure manufacturing at the 10-micron level, with post-processing shrinkage reduced to 2%-6%.
