China Academy of Machinery Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology Co., Ltd.
Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 1956. It is a directly affiliated and reformed institute of the China Academy of Machinery, a large state-owned science and technology group under the supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Domestically, it is the leading research institution engaged in the research and development as well as technology transfer of forging and stamping, heat treatment, and mold technology. It is also a national high-tech enterprise, a key national Torch Program high-tech enterprise, a Beijing patent demonstration unit, and a Zhongguancun Open Laboratory.
The Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology has established national and industry technological innovation platforms such as the National Engineering Research Center for Precision Forming, the Beijing Engineering Technology Research Center for Clean Heat Treatment, the Machinery Industry Engineering Laboratory for Near-Net-Shape Forming, and the Machinery Industry Engineering Technology Research Center for Automobile Parts Forming Die. It is also the technical authority unit for China's forging and stamping, heat treatment, and die industries. The National Forging and Stamping Society, the National Forging and Stamping Technology Standardization Committee, the National Heat Treatment Society, the National Heat Treatment Technology Standardization Committee, the China Heat Treatment Industry Association, and the China Die Industry Association are all located in this institute. It publishes and distributes four technical journals: 'Journal of Plasticity Engineering', 'Forging & Stamping Technology', 'Transactions of Materials and Heat Treatment', and 'Metal Heat Treatment'. It utilizes two shared service websites, the 'Forging and Stamping Technology Database' and the 'Heat Treatment Technology Database', and is building an information technology system for the die industry along with a cloud service system. It has the qualification to cultivate doctoral and master's degree students in two disciplines.
The Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology has a technical development team with a core of middle-aged and young experts in domestic first-class forging and pressing, heat treatment, and mold fields, specializing in process, equipment, engineering automation, and technology integration. It currently has more than 300 employees, including 1 Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 national experts with outstanding contributions, 13 experts receiving government special allowances, and 90 researchers and senior engineers. Many experts hold leadership positions in national organizations for forging and pressing, heat treatment, and mold industries.
