Data shows that in January-March 2025, China's metal cutting machine tool output reached 182,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%. Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other provinces ranked at the forefront in production, among which Guangdong Province's single-month output in March was 22,800 units (a year-on-year increase of 59.58%).

Recently, Jiangxi Just CNC Co., Ltd. developed a product with a repeat positioning accuracy of 0.4 micrometers, reaching the pinnacle in the niche field of CNC metal cutting machine tools.

After the start of Rong Semiconductor (Ningbo) Co., Ltd.'s 12-inch chip project in May, it has continued to attract attention. Its planned monthly production capacity of 35,000 pieces of 12-inch wafers (mainly for automotive electronics) highlights the dependence of chip manufacturing on high-end lithography machines and precision machining equipment, which will further drive demand for machine tool industry.

May 18, it was reported that US additive manufacturing company Stratasys has acquired the main assets and business of German Forward AM, which announced bankruptcy six months ago. The two companies will jointly establish a new company named Mass Additive Manufacturing GmbH. (Forward AM is a company specializing in the development and production of 3D printing materials, originally the AM business department under BASF, a global chemical giant.)

May 19, the Phase IV F Block Project of BLT, the world's largest metal 3D printing base, was officially started in Xi'an High-tech Zone. The project focuses on efficient and high-precision metal 3D printing customized production, serving high-end manufacturing fields such as aerospace, and is committed to achieving batch additive manufacturing of complex parts. The total construction area of the project is approximately 87,500 square meters, and it is planned to build 4 metal 3D printing workshops, 1 post-processing and inspection and testing workshop and supporting facilities.

From May 19 to 23, the Russia International Machine Tool Exhibition was held in Moscow, gathering 1,070 exhibitors from 13 countries, showcasing technologies such as metal processing equipment, CNC systems and industrial robots. The Chinese exhibition team participated, promoting the application of machine tool technology in the international market. At the Russia Machine Tool Exhibition, there is a significant demand for heavy machine tools in the fields of oil and natural gas, power generation equipment, etc. The displayed forging presses, laser cutting equipment and others are widely used in energy equipment manufacturing, reflecting the technical pull of energy transition on the machine tool industry.
