July 2025, the global machine tool industry witnessed a major consolidation——United Grinding acquired GF Machining Solutions for 650 million Swiss francs and also acquired the Swiss LIECHTI company, a leading player in the aerospace engine sector, to establish a new company named UNITED MACHINING SOLUTIONS (UMS). After the merger, UMS is expected to achieve annual sales exceeding 1.5 billion US dollars, employ over 5,000 people, and operate in more than 50 global locations, positioning it as a top-tier enterprise in the industry. This merger strengthens the complementarity between grinding technology and other technologies such as laser texturing and EDM, enhancing the full-chain capabilities of precision machining solutions.

July 7th,  Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. (XTC)   (a leading China tungsten industry company) is constructing a project in Thailand with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million indexable inserts and 500,000 integral cutting tools. A regional cutting tool logistics and distribution center will be established to support comprehensive regional product delivery and service capabilities, further expanding its Southeast Asian market.

July 7th, Stratasys acquired Nexa3D's high-speed DLP 3D printing technology assets (including intellectual property, remaining machines, and spare parts) to integrate its ultra-high-speed industrial printing capabilities and supplement its Origin business, meeting the manufacturing industry's demand for efficient and high-quality production. Nexa3D's high-speed DLP technology complements Stratasys' material extrusion technology (acquired from Essentium), providing customers with more in-depth polymer additive manufacturing solutions.

July 12th, China Aero Engine Corporation (AECC) successfully completed a flight test of a 3D-printed micro turbojet engine (with a thrust of 160 kilograms) at an altitude of 13,000 feet, verifying the application potential of AM in the aerospace field. The engine, manufactured using advanced processes such as laser directed energy deposition (LDED), achieved near-net-shape formation of complex internal structures, providing critical component support for lightweighting and performance enhancement of equipment such as small drones.

July 12th, MIT developed the world's first 3D printer without mechanical components based on silicon photonics. By utilizing nanoscale antenna emission, it can print complex 2D patterns within seconds and is expected to be extended to efficient volumetric 3D printing in the future. This technology breaks through the mechanical motion limitations of traditional 3D printing, significantly improving printing speed and accuracy, offering a new tool for micro- and nanoscale manufacturing.

Yingkou Forging Press Machinery Co., Ltd.  , after 15 years of research and development, has successfully developed a 3150-ton electric screw pressure machine, achieving full automation in the forging process. The equipment incorporates servo direct drive technology to precisely control pressure, displacement, and speed, with key indicators reaching international leading levels. It provides core equipment support for fields such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing.
