Recently, the EU's new export control regulations have added additive manufacturing equipment and materials to the dual-use list under Regulation (EU) 2021/821, imposing export restrictions starting November 8, which will impact the supply chains of metal 3D printing powders and equipment.

September 16, news came that Japanese machine tools have achieved recovery through the Chinese market, with Japan's machine tool orders to China growing by 8.3% in July 2025 compared to the same period last year, maintaining 16 consecutive months of growth, reflecting the recovery of China's manufacturing investment, particularly strong demand in the automotive parts and 3C electronics sectors.

September 17, Oerlikon and TRUMPF reached a strategic cooperation agreement. The two companies will jointly develop metal 3D printing technologies, focusing on layout in the aerospace and semiconductor markets, integrating TRUMPF's process experience with Oerlikon's project development capabilities.

One of the world's four major machine tool exhibitions, EMO (European Machine Tool Show), will be held in Hanover, Germany from September 22 to 26. It covers the entire metal processing value chain, including cutting and forming machine tools, manufacturing systems, precision tools, automated material handling, computer technology, industrial electronic products and accessories. EMO is held every two years in Hanover and Milan, and will see its 50th anniversary in 2025.
